Exclusive to Granite Lane, Coastal King is an original piece by Perth-born artist Emma Itzstein.

Measuring 102 x 76 cm, Emma produced this vibrant work as soon as she returned from her travels to Italy’s Amalfi Coast and Lake Como region. Coastal King alludes to textured, time worn facades, opulent villa tiling palettes and the Capri ocean blue which pops against its pastel architecture. 

Itzstein’s practice involves two layers of working. Initially with layered expressive washes, overlaid with highly stylised flowers as a symbol for mindfulness. The Perth born artist works from her home studio in Geelong, Victoria.

Strictly limited edition of 10 pieces. Artwork is unframed and shipped in  an industrial strength art-tube. Framing can also be arranged at an additional cost for Perth customers.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Perth-born artist Emma Itzstein has been making waves in the Australian Art scene  over the past year. Her earthy and pastel native Australian florals, set on a dripped-paint background, are incredibly distinctive. Her use of layering, combined with an earthy colour palette and expressive, intuitive brushstrokes are a fresh and unique take on floral representation.
